Which kayaks can I rent?
You can rent a single kayak or a double kayak from us. Our kayaks are very stable and high-quality kayaks from Prijon. The single kayaks are of the Prijon CL430 type and the double kayak is of the Prijon CL470 type.
Which accessories are included in the kayak rental?
If you rent a kayak from us, you will get a paddle, a life jacket, a bilge pump and a paddle leash for your kayak. If necessary, you can also rent a wetsuit from us. Please note that for safety reasons we rent our sit-in kayaks without a spray skirt.
From what age can children rent a kayak?
We recommend that a child rents a kayak for a longer tour only when accompanied by an adult. When registering a minor, we also need the signature of a legal guardian. Small children can best go together with an adult in our double kayak.
Do I have to know how to kayak to rent a kayak?
Nakskov Fjord is a very beginner-friendly area. The water is shallow almost everywhere and you are always close to the coast. However, you should know the basics of kayak paddling before renting a kayak from us. You can learn those basics in our kayaking intro course.
What is the kayak intro course for?
The aim of our kayak intro course is to provide you with the safety-related basics you need to maneuver a kayak safely in Nakskov Fjord. So if you have no previous experience in kayaking, we recommend that you take part in a kayak intro course before renting a kayak from us.
What clothes do I wear best for kayak paddling?
Depending on the weather, it is best to put on different layers of clothing for kayak paddling (onion technique). Since there is always spray water, a waterproof jacket is a good top layer. Neoprene shoes are best for your feet, but you can also use light sneakers, ideally without laces. When kayaking, keep in mind that the weather can always change or you can get wet unintentionally, which is why it is better to take too much than too little clothing with you on a longer tour.
